MyWayy - Transit Redefined

Project Overview

MyWayy redefines public transit convenience with its seamless payment integration and intuitive intercity planning. Whether you're navigating urban streets or journeying between cities, this app streamlines your travel experience.

TimeLine: March 2024 - May 2024

Role: User Research, User Design (Wireframing and Prototyping), User Interface Design and Iterations

The problem I focused on

Existing transit applications often lack clarity and fail to provide essential traveler information. Moreover, users are burdened with the inconvenience of managing multiple apps for real-time updates and payments, longing for a unified solution.

Emphasis & Ideation

As a part of my user-research I conducted around 17 user interviews, which have been instrumental in identifying and deepening my understanding of the user issue. These interviews have enabled me to pinpoint the core issue and devise strategies to ensure that my solution is inclusive and accessible to all users.

Here is the script I used. I did use AI to optimize my questions and better understand my users: https://forms.gle/4WebEatUm1aLU1Qo8

After analyzing the insights from the user-interviews and my secondary research, I came up with two user flows to target. They helped me emphasize and summarize pain points I needed to address.

  • Planning an inter-city trip

  • Loading funds into your account and purchasing tickets

Starting the Design Journey

Typeface - Inter

  • Accessibility: Inter font's design considerations for accessibility, including clear letterforms and ample spacing, make it ideal for ensuring that users of all abilities can comfortably use the transit app.

  • Modern Aesthetic: With its modern yet approachable appearance, Inter font contributes to a contemporary and user-friendly aesthetic for the transit app, enhancing the overall user experience.

Considering the environmental impact and the "go green" ethos, I decided to adopt green as the primary colour palette and incorporate a feature in the design aimed at promoting savings through the use of the transit app.

Redefining the designs

In order to assess my prototypes, I carried out five usability tests. Among them, two were supervised, while the remaining three were unsupervised. Each participant was allotted approximately 15 minutes to navigate through the interfaces, respond to inquiries, and provide feedback.

The insights from my usability studies enabled me to address significant design biases. I modified the UX copy and tags to ensure a smoother flow of understanding. Additionally, I implemented minor adjustments such as incorporating icons and adjusting font weights to enhance inclusivity and accessibility throughout the process.

Final Designs

Reflection

Looking ahead, I'm excited to enhance my skills in interaction design and prioritize accessibility to ensure the app is inclusive for all users. I'm eager to apply these learnings in future projects and continue growing as a product designer.
